31.10.2008 - A new Barrier-free bus line from Ostrava to Karviná

A new barrier-free low-floor bus adapted for persons using wheelchairs is in testing operation between Ostrava, Orlová and Karviná city since September this year. The idea has been supported by Moravian-Silesian regional authority along with Karviná city, Darkov Spa Rehabilitation Sanatorium, bus operator ÄŒSAD Karviná and ODIS. Thanks to a special foot-plate the bus is able to transfer 2 wheelchair users or 2 baby coaches at the same time. The bus is fitted for elders as well.
