16.05.2014 - Slovakia is trained in jedemetaky.cz methodology

Project Accessible Tourism – after the initial workshop the Czech-Slovak project focused on cross-border cooperation in the field of accessible tourism, continued by training Slovak partner in the evaluation methodology of accessibility of tourist attractions for people with limited mobility. One of the project objectives is the expansion of the database full of tourist destinations and routes mapped in uniform way. The training was open to the Czech people interested in understanding the process by which the data are collected and evaluated. Participants became familiar with the criteria and procedures. They convinced on a practical example, how demanding the mapping process is. The training was also providing examples of good practices from Těšín Silesia and meetings with operators of accessible tourist sites and objects.

Following the training, activities of the project will move to Slovakia. It contains pilot mapping of tourist destinations in the region Turiec (Žilina Region), which is a traditional tourist destination offering practically everything – wonderful scenery, hot springs, cultural and historical monuments, sport facilities, etc. The first Slovak tourist attractions will be shown on this website. Project is co-financed by EU through the Cross-border Cooperation Operational Programme between Slovakia and the Czech Republic, Micro Projects Fund. Project is realized by Trianon (NGO).
